CAMHS - Disability Team
The team provides a highly specialist psychological, nursing and behavioural service at CAMHS to children and young people with a physical and/or learning disability and their parents/carers living in North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. The multi-professional team aims to help individuals and families to better understand and manage the difficulties they are experiencing by providing highly specialist assessments, information, advice, evidence-based interventions and support. In addition, the service seeks to promote a preventative and early intervention approach to improve children and young peoples’ wellbeing.
The team is able to help with difficulties such as; behaviour which is challenging, low mood and anxiety, feeding/dietary problems, sleep difficulties, skill development, autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), fears and phobias and concerns about development.
