Supported Internships in Stoke-on-Trent
Work-based learning placements for young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.
A supported internship is a work-based training placement that typically lasts from 6-12 months. Interns will improve their chances of finding sustainable, paid work through a combination of work-experience and classroom based learning. The majority of the learner's time should be spent in the workplace.
Supported internships are offered by local FE colleges and sixth forms working in partnership with employers. Interns are supported in the workplace by a specialist job coach.
Interns will require an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan and a willingness to work.
Supported internships are a key part of the government's plan to involve young people with EHCPs in the national response to Covid.
