Supported Internships - Stoke-on-Trent City Council

Work-based learning placements for young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.

A supported internship is a work-based training placement that typically lasts from 6-12 months. Interns will improve their chances of finding sustainable, paid work through a combination of work-experience (60-80%) and classroom based learning (20-40%).

Supported internships are offered by local FE colleges and sixth forms working in partnership with employers. Interns are supported in the workplace by a specialist job coach.

Employment levels of those completing Supported Internships are high. Interns will require an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan and a willingness to work.
