SEND Services: Autism Team (ASD) (ASC)

COVID-19 UPDATE: During Lockdown we continue to offer support both in settings and remotely.

We provide a range of support, training and advice, to schools and other educational providers and settings. This ensures that children and young people with Autism have opportunities to achieve their educational goals and acquire the skills they need to gain independence in learning and in life.

We can support children and young people with or without a diagnosis; as we believe that offering timely support is crucial to future outcomes.

The Autism Team at SEND Services promote high expectations and quality outcomes for children and young people in all settings; contributing to delivering the priorities of the setting, development and improvement plans through the support of parents, pupils, schools and their staff.

Working with the Autism Team at SEND provides settings with access to an excellent team of professionals with a wide range of expertise and experience in the field of Autism and all areas of Special Educational Needs & Disability. Our specialist practitioners can model research-based and good practice approaches, strategies and resources.

The Autism Team can support with the following training:

  • Autism Awareness
  • Structured Teaching and the TEACCH Approach
  • Sensory Processing
  • Positive Behaviour Techniques
  • Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations

(once all the above training is completed the delegate will receive ‘Autism Advocate’ Status)

The Autism Team can also support with:

  • Social Stories
