Safer Places Scheme

The Safer Places scheme provides a network of organisations throughout the City who provide assistance and support to people who feel vulnerable, uncomfortable or scared, for any reason whilst out in the community. All member organisations receive training in learning disability and vulnerable adult awareness to ensure best engagement between themselves and a vulnerable person. The scheme is open to people with a disability or vulnerable condition aged 14 or over, and membership is free.  Members receive a Keep Safe card with the names and contact details of 2 relatives, friends or carers who can be called to pick the person up if necessary.

There is also a free to use App which will give details and take you to your nearest safer place. This app can be downloaded to any smartphone, with the App store or Google play, by typing in safe places.
