Children in the reception class, year 1 and year 2 automatically receive free school meals, whereas children in other year groups may be eligible for free school meals if their family receives certain benefits.

Vouchers
Parents of children in receipt of free school meals are entitled to vouchers to purchase food over the school holidays. If your child is attending a mainstream Stoke-on-Trent school, you do not need to apply as you will receive your vouchers from your child’s school. For all other children, including children with an Education, Health and Care Plan attending a school or college in another local authority, parents will need to make an application.
