Horizon Education Alternative Learning (HEAL) - Organisations
The HEAL (Horizon Education Alternative Learning) programme is a lifeline for young people aged 5-19 who struggle to engage with traditional school environments due to challenges such as anxiety, trauma, or additional needs. Designed with flexibility and individual growth at its heart, HEAL provides short-term, personalised learning programmes that re-engage students and restore their love for learning. Our bespoke curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs, interests, and aspirations of each learner. With a focus on academic, vocational, and personal development, we offer a broad yet balanced curriculum across all Key Stages. This approach allows students to develop vital skills while pursuing pathways that align with their unique strengths and goals. The HEAL programme combines direct one-to-one home tuition with online learning, enabling students to access education in a way that feels safe, manageable, and engaging. Our skilled tutors are trained in trauma-informed approaches, creating a supportive environment where students can rebuild their confidence and rediscover their potential. For learners with complex needs, HEAL's therapeutic approach incorporates social-emotional development and well-being into every aspect of the learning journey. Key to HEAL’s success is our integrated team of education and therapeutic professionals. Working collaboratively, our tutors partner with Therapeutic Services, SENDCOs, and other specialists to ensure that every child’s emotional and educational needs are met. By addressing barriers to learning holistically, we create a nurturing framework that enables students to thrive. HEAL’s flexibility is unmatched, offering bespoke timetables designed around individual learning paces and developmental goals. For students who have faced significant disruption to their education, our programme provides a stable, tailored pathway to growth. Beyond academics, we foster resilience, self-belief, and readiness for the next stage in their journey. Once a student completes their personalised programme, HEAL supports their smooth transition back into a school setting or onto further education and training. By working closely with schools, families, and therapeutic teams, we ensure continuity and sustainability of progress. At HEAL, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to succeed, and our bespoke curriculum, therapeutic support, and highly skilled team provide the foundation for brighter futures. |
