Family Services

Family support encompasses the various ways family members can assist each other emotionally, financially, and practically. This support can manifest in numerous ways, including:

  1. Emotional Support: Offering a listening ear, understanding, and comfort during tough times or celebrating happy moments together.
  2. Financial Support: Helping monetary assistance, how to pay bills, or manage financial difficulties.
  3. Advice and Guidance: Providing wisdom, experience, and advice in decision-making processes.
  4. Social Support: Encouragement in engaging in family activities, promoting a sense of belonging, and fostering strong relationships.
  5. Professional Support: aiding families when dealing with professionals, ensuring that no jargon is used and everything is easy to understand.

Family support is about being there for one another, providing a safety net, and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and cared for.

Level 2 Early Help refers to a stage of intervention designed to support families and children who are facing emerging concerns or moderate needs. This level of help typically involves a single or multi-agency approach to provide additional support to families. Here are some key aspects:

  1. Identifying Needs: Recognising that a family or child might need extra support due to emerging issues such as behavioural problems, school attendance issues, or parental concerns.
  2. Support Services: Offering support through professionals already involved with the family, such as teachers, health visitors, or social workers.
  3. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Sometimes, a coordinated effort from multiple agencies might be necessary to address the family's needs effectively.
  4. Referrals: Families can be referred to specific services or programs that can help them manage their concerns, such as parenting courses or counselling.

The goal of Level 2 Early Help is to provide timely support to prevent issues from escalating and to promote positive outcomes for children and families.
