Help us shape inclusive playgroup sessions.

There are lots of playgroups running in and around Stoke who offer some lovely play experiences and the chance for parents to meet and have a catch up.

The staff in our service are very aware that parents of children with additional needs don’t always feel comfortable in taking children to these groups but we would like to change that!

We are excited that we are now looking to extend our SHINE award into playgroups in Stoke. We have our initial meeting at 12.30 on Wednesday 22nd January at the Bentilee Family Hub and we would love you to attend if you are able. The SHINE award (Stoke Hallmark of Inclusive Nursery environment) is aimed at  celebrating inclusive practice and is awarded to  nurseries (and playgroups soon!) that offer a high quality and inclusive session that parents can feel confident in bring their little ones along to.

At this meeting we will work together to decide what makes a playgroup SHINE  so it would be wonderful to have as many parents of early years children with additional needs as we can at the meeting. Please email jayne.brown@stoke.gov.uk if you would like to attend.
