Support for Young Children with SEND at The Peter Pan Centre

The Peter Pan Centre is excited to introduce two new early years programmes designed to support children with SEND: Little Adventurers and Little Explorers
Little Adventurers
This term-time programme offers 15 hours of early education per week, delivered across five morning sessions (three hours each). It’s ideal for children whose primary needs fall under Communication and Interaction or Cognition and Learning, as outlined in the SEND Code of Practice.
Children benefit from a low staff-to-child ratio, typically 1:3, with 1:2 or 1:1 support available where needed to ensure safety and personalised care. Each session includes dedicated one-to-one adult-led support, helping children engage, learn and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Little Explorers
Running Monday to Friday for 48 weeks a year, Little Explorers offers 2.5 hours of specialist support each afternoon. This flexible, year-round option is perfect for families needing consistent support beyond term time.
Children are supported on a 1:2 ratio, with 1:1 support provided for those with higher needs. As with Little Adventurers, every child receives individual adult-led support during each session.
How to Apply
Families interested in either programme are encouraged to get in touch to discuss their child’s needs and begin the application process.
The Centre also runs SEND Stay and Play sessions—fun, relaxed groups where parents and children can enjoy sensory play together. It’s a great way to meet other families and get support from friendly staff and volunteers.
