Have Your Say on SEND Support
Share your ideas to help shape better SEND support for children and families.
The government has started a big conversation about the future of support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They want to hear from families, professionals, and young people about what works well and what needs to change.
What’s it about?
The aim is to make SEND support fairer, quicker, and closer to home. The discussion will focus on five main ideas:
- Getting help early – so children get the right support as soon as possible.
- Local options – making sure children can learn near home, with specialist help if needed.
- Fairness for families – clear rules and resources for schools and parents.
- What works best – using proven approaches to help children thrive.
- Working together – better teamwork between education, health, and care services.
How can you join in?
There will be regional events across England and online sessions where you can share your views. You can also give feedback through the official website.
This is your chance to help shape future plans for SEND support. The conversation runs until January 2026, and your input will help guide the next steps. You can find more detailed information here: Government launches national conversation on SEND - GOV.UK
