Have Your Say on the Future of SEND Support
Children and young people can join focus groups this spring.
Children and young people are being asked to give their views on how SEND support should change. Following the publication of the White Paper Every child achieving and thriving, there is a national consultation called "Putting children and young people first" which is open until 18 May 2026.
The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) wants to hear from young people up to age 25, including those who need extra help or communicate in different ways.
CDC is running focus groups across England from early March to 30 April 2026. There are only a few spaces, and they may fill up quickly. They especially want to hear from children and young people whose voices are not always heard.
This is a great chance for young people to talk about what works, what doesn’t, and what would make SEND support better in the future. Families are encouraged to share this opportunity and help children and young people get involved.
