Velocity Training (ages 11-16) - Organisations
|
Velocity Training Academy is an alternative provision supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND), including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural challenges. The provision offers a structured, nurturing environment designed to re-engage learners who may struggle within mainstream education. Our approach is trauma-informed and relationship-led, recognising that many students have experienced adverse life events, disrupted education, or barriers to learning. At Velocity, we focus on developing the whole child. Alongside core academic support in English and Maths functional skills, we deliver a broad, personalised curriculum that includes vocational activities, physical education/sports leadership qualification, Employability and development qualification, IT functional skills and enrichment opportunities such as outdoor learning and boxing. These activities are used strategically to build confidence, resilience, self-regulation, and teamwork skills. We maintain small group sizes and high staff-to-student ratios, allowing for tailored interventions and consistent pastoral support. Staff are experienced in de-escalation strategies, behaviour support, and safeguarding, ensuring that all students feel safe, respected, and understood. |
