North Road Academy is an independent Muslim special school at the heart of our local community in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent. The school provides a child-centred, outcomes-focused approach, tailored to the individual needs, abilities and aspirations of every child. North Road Academy has a strong Islamic ethos at the heart of its values, education and daily life, while being a welcoming and inclusive school open to children of all faiths and backgrounds. Our Islamic ethos is reflected in our Ikhlaas values, which encourage children to develop positive character, respect for others, kindness, compassion, honesty, responsibility and a strong sense of purpose. These values underpin our approach to supporting every child and help create a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning and life. North Road Academy provides opportunities for all children to develop their individual skills, interests and talents within a supportive Muslim faith setting. The school has access to the Community Mosque and provides opportunities for children to engage with appropriate Islamic teachings, including learning about the Quran and the Sunnah, Muslim values and traditions. While Islamic teachings and the school’s Ikhlaas values are an important part of our ethos, we celebrate and respect the diversity of our school community. Children from all backgrounds are warmly welcomed, and all pupils are encouraged to learn, grow and develop within an environment built on mutual respect, understanding and inclusion. At North Road Academy, we believe that every child is unique and valued. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment in which every child can flourish, develop their individual strengths and achieve their full potential. |
