Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is a paid job that includes training and leads to a recognised qualification. It is a good option for young people who learn best through practical experience.
Your young person must be:
- aged 16 or older
- living in England
- not in full-time education
Benefits of an apprenticeship
Your young person will:
- earn a wage
- gain real work experience
- learn from experienced staff
- spend at least one day per week studying or training
Pay
Under 18: £7.55 per hour
Age 18–20: £10.00 per hour
Age 21+: £12.21 per hour
Length of apprenticeships
Apprenticeships last between 1 and 5 years, depending on the level.
