Dick Whittington - relaxed pantomime performance at the Regent Theatre.

  • The Regent say, "This is a Relaxed performance where elements of the production are adapted to reduce anxiety or stress. This performance welcomes those who would like to see the show in a less formal atmosphere, including (but not limited to) those who have an autism spectrum condition, people with a learning disability and parents with very young children"

Birches Head Get Growing Christmas Party

  • A family event - children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet Santa - Apedale Valley Light Railway (all ages)

  • Loomer Rd, Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 7LB
  • Saturday and Sunday 20 and 21 December,  trains run between 10am - 4:30pm
  • Your party will board the train at the platform adjacent to the Apedale Heritage Centre. During the 15-minute round trip, Santa will meet the train and come back to the Heritage Centre. Then, the children can meet Santa in his grotto.
  • Santa has gifts for children in the age groups, birth to 1 year, 1 to 3 years, 3 to 8 years and 8 years plus. Older children who do not require a gift can travel as an adult. Babies-in-arms can also travel free of charge if no present is required

  • They are pleased to welcome visitors of all abilities, and their train can convey wheelchairs

Make and Bake session - Snowman bookmarks and marshmallow sticks

  • A free, self-led, drop-in session at the Spitfire Cafe bar that allows children to create their own items around a variety of themes.
  • No booking is required, but it's recommended to arrive early to get a reservation

Tales in Motion (ages 7-10)

  • Saturday 27 December, 12 - 1:30pm - The Bird and the Whate
  • Monday 29 December, 12 - 1:30pm - The Oak Tree
  • MAC say, "Step into a world of imagination where stories come to life! Tales in Motion invites families to explore classic fairy tales and folk stories through film and creativity. The workshop begins with a short film, followed by hands-on activities where children bring stories to life through stop-motion animation. Participants will help narrate the tale and create drawings of key scenes and characters, which will be transformed into their very own mini stop-motion film.
    This is a family-led activity, and we ask that one parent or guardian stays to join in the fun. Suitable for children aged 7–10 years."
