Aiming High activities

Stoke-on-Trent Aiming High is a programme full of exciting, fun and safe activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities in Stoke-on-Trent, up until the age of 18. Each child can book between 2-4 sessions per month dependent on their needs. We will tell you how many sessions you can book. Aiming High - Our Space holiday family session (age 12 and under)

  • Our Space say, "Our Family Fun Days are an opportunity for the whole family to spend time together in a safe and secure environment, including siblings who may not have additional needs. We have a lots of space to explore, with a large, secure outdoor play area and indoor space including a soft play area. As well as all our usual indoor and outdoor activities, we invite activity providers along to our Family Fun Days to do activities such as Dancing, Hula Hooping, and Bush Craft.."

Youth Pan Disability Football (ages 8-11)

  • Youth PAN disability football sessions aimed at young people aged between 8 and 11 years old, providing young people with the opportunity to enjoy and play football whilst developing their skills and confidence.

Ability Counts Football coaching session (ages 5 - 15)

  • SCFC say, "PAN Disability Soccer School is football session for any participants with a registered disability. We pride ourselves on its inclusivity and will always look to accommodate you. 
  • Suitable footwear to be worn (Moulded boots or Astro Turf trainers). No metal studs to be worn. Shinpads, and packed lunch required."

Indi in the Community (age 16+)

  • An inclusive weekly social group for adults with disabilities to connect, have fun and enhance their wellbeing. From art and music sessions to sports and nature walks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

YMCA Go! trip - Bolton Gate Farm - Nature, Dreams and Stories (age 10-16)

  • Pick up and drop off from various locations
  • Monday 28 July, 9:15am - 4pm Travel time: 2 hours 30 mins.  Activity time 11am - 3pm
  • YMCA say, "A creative outdoor adventure in three fun parts:
    • Nature Walk: Start with some calming breaths, then explore Park Hall with your senses wide open. Sketch, write, and collect natural leaves and twigs for later.
    • Dream Catcher Making: Use your found materials (or spares) to create a one-of-a-kind dream catcher with fabric, beads, and nature! Best of all – you get to take your creation home! A perfect keepsake from an unforgettable experience.
    • Storytelling: Turn your dream catcher into a story. Who might it belong to? What dreams does it hold? Let your imagination lead the way!

Tales in the Park (0-14 years)

  • The Literacy Trust invites all families from across the city to 'Tales in the Park' taking place this summer! These family-friendly storytelling festivals are completely free and promise a day filled with fun and creativity for children of all ages.Highlights include:
    • Captivating storytelling sessions
    • Interactive draw-along sessions
    • Free books for the children
    • Facepainting and craft activities
    • Pop-up sports
    • Bouncy castle
    • And much more!

Shrek theatre workshop (age 6+)

  • Friday 1 August: registration 11:30am, workshop 12pm – 1:30pm
  • A workshop exploring dance and drama. Young people will have chance to socialise, have fun and get creative. Perfect for budding stage stars.
  • MAC say: “Our workshops can support those who have special educational needs and can be adapted to wheelchair users. Please let us know in advance so we can plan for it. For those whose needs are complex participants are recommended to have a 1 to 1 with them in sessions”.
